"PA JOAD" HIS ROLE,
Entertainment classics are Russell Simpson's long suit. For this reason the veteran character actor was more than anxious to win the part of Pa Joad in Darryl Zanuck's production of "The Grapes of Wrath," John Steinbeck's colourful best-seller which 20th Century-Fox will release in New Zealand in the near future. Simpson felt that a part in this production under John Ford's direction would be a climax to his record of appearances in American entertainment pieces. He has appeared in such productions as
"The Virginian" and "The Wanning of Barbara Worth," and a long string of famous Broadway hits.
