GIFTS TO WAR EFFORT

LONDON, July 2. Two further colonial contributions to ' the Empire war effort were announced today. Conveying "their fervent wish and prayers that God may carry Britain victoriously through this war," the Kabaka Government and people of Buganda have sent £10,000 as,a gift to the Imperial Government for war purposes. Fifty thousand pounds has been received from the Falklands as the result of a unanimous resolution of the Legislature. This sum is to be applied to the purchase of aeroplanes and represents a substantial gift from a colony numbering 2400 people, and which already bears the cost of.its own defence. _________________________
