MILITARY SERVICE
ACCELERATION AT HOME '
(British Official Wireless.! (Received July 3, 2 p.m.)
RUGBY, July 2
Informing the House of Commons that all men registered for military service up to the end of May had now been called up with the exception of a few special categories, the War Minister (Mr. Anthony Eden) said that the intake was being further accelerated and this would apply to those age groups now registering. He declined to accept a suggestion by a member, who believed that a seaborne invasion of Britain on a serious scale was a remote contingency, that the policy in respect of enrolment for military training should be reviewed.
