4 SUBMARINES SUNK

LONDON, July 2.
A naval communique issued in Cairo states that British naval and air forces in the eastern Mediterranean sank four Italian submarines, -besides the destroyer Espero, between. June 27 and 30.
Tbe total number of Italian suiimarines sunlc, including the four mentioned above,, is 13. It is understood that tbere were some survivor., from the four sunk in tbe eastern Mediterranean..
The Admiralty, confirming die destruction o£ tbe four submarine^ adds; "Near home we have alsotaken our toll of U-boats, in the past week."
Cairo- reports that 44 survivors were picked up from the Italian destroyer Espero, which was sunk by Britishnaval forces on June 27.
