COMMENT ON DEATH OF NEW ZEALANDER
LONDON, July 1.
"The Times" announces tl.r death of the New Zeal'ander J. St. B. Barclay, R.A.S.C., who was killed in. action. "No young man could have chosen a more pleasant and more useful life," it adds. Mr. Barclay was educated at Cambridge and went to Bolivia searching for treasure when he was 22 years old. Theni he entered journalism and enlisted in the naval intelligence service at the outbreak of war. being aged 37. He then transferred to the R.A.S'.C, insisting on going abroad. H- was killed a fortnight later.
