STILL WIDER FIELD

MISSIONARY ASSOCIATION

The fifth annual meeting of the Wellington Missionary Association was held last night in the Cambridge Terrace Congregational Church. The newly-elected president, the Rev. D. B. Forde-Carlisle, speaking on the war and its effects on missionary work, said that although many difficulties were caused, further opportunities for the spreading of the gospel were provided. During the year £359 3s Id had been paid to various missions, both at home and abroad. The present financial membership of the association was 258. The business of the meeting being completed, Miss Doris Borlase (missionary designate to the Central Asian Mission) told of her call to that field. Mr. H. Troughton, of the Central Japan Mission, told of his work in Japan. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, the Rev. D. B. Forde-Carlisle; vice-presi-dents, Dr. J. M.
