A POINT TO BE NOTED
Any persons wishing to nominate children of relatives or friends in Great Britain should send particulars to the Internal Affairs Department, Wellington, not to the special office at the Town Hall. In making application to the Internal Affairs Department for particular children, they should give the names and full addresses of their British relatives or friends and should ' specify the names of the children they particularly desire to have with them. The office at the Town Hall, near the Mayor's office, is for the assistance of those who are offering to take to their homes any children who may be allocated to them. Charges of assaulting Constable Cartmell in the execution of his duty, of using obscene language, and of drunkenness were admitted by John Fitzgerald, a seaman and labourer, aged 56, who appeared before Mr. W. F. Stilwell, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. Fitzgerald said he was a bit drunk, and did not know what j he was doing. He was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment for assaulting the • constable, fined £2 on the obscene language charge, and convicted and discharged for drunkenness.
