CITY TRAINING AREAS
The Winter Show Grounds, Nairn Street Reserve, and Central Park have been selected as the city training grounds for the Ist Battalion, Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington's Own), the men of which will be called up to carry out three months' intensive training commencing on July 1. The Hutt Valley and Eastbourne portions of the battalion will train at the Lower Hutt Recreation Ground.
The men will live at their homes but will be engaged in training for six whole days in each week. Officers and n.c.o.s of the battalior are at present attending a month's intensive course at the Central District School of Instruction in its new temporary quarters at Tauherenikau racecourse.
