NATION'S TRIBUTE
INSPIRING RECORD
GOVERNMENT'S SYMPATHY
The following tribute to "Cobber" Kain was paid today by the Prime Minister (the Hon. P. Fraser):—
"I am sure that the death of the young New Zealand flying-officer, Edgar James Kain, D.F.C., has caused the deepest sorrow throughout the length and breadth of this .Dominion, and "that universal heartfelt! sympathy will be extended to. his bereaved parents and otner relatives. That sympathy too will be offered in full measure to the parents and relatives of all our other brave men who have made the supreme sacrifice. "We have all followed Flying-Officer Kain's brilliant and daring exploits in the Royal Air Force with intense pride. •' • . "His record against the enemy ranks with the best individual achievements of the Royal Air Force.. \ '5 "This young, New Zealander has indeed set a "record which will inspii'e his fellow-countrymen now in the Air Force and all those who are waiting to go to the battle-front to take their place beside our lads who are already there —"heroes' every one of them—fighting with all-the dash and vigour and endurance which has made the Royal Air Force the finest air force in the world today.
