(Received June 10, 1 p.m.1)
MELBOURNE, This Day
The Federal Cabinet has reversed its decision to cancel the King's Birthday holiday on June 17 for all Commonwealth employees. The usual holiday will be observed, except in munitions and defence. The Premier, Mr. R G. Menzies, said that the States had been consulted on the proposal to cancel the holiday but it had not been possible to arrange a common policy. The Opposition Leader, Mr. J. Curtin, speaking at a patriotic rally at Perth, said:, "There can be no security for Australia "except by the nation being put on a war footing immediately."
