ITALIAN FORCES
MOVED TO FRENCH FRONTIER
ATTITUDE TO EGYPT
LONDON, June 8,
According to a message from Belgrade it is reliably stated that, Italian forces have been moved to the French frontier from Fiume. Consequently the Yugoslav War Ministry has released 120,000 reservists, although the frontier garrisons are being maintained at un diminished strength.
.Egypt has informed Britain that Italy has declared that she will not infringe the Egyptian frontiers in the event of her making war against the Allies, but the Premier declared today that Egypt will fulfil all her obligations under her alliance with England. Seven hundred undesirables have been removed from Alexandria and interned in Upper Egypt. One hundred cabaret artists, mostly Hungarians, have been deported. A report from Malta states that the Italian air line is closing down and that the employees and other Italians are leaving Malta.
