BY-ELECTION IN BRITAIN
LONDON June, 8. The North Newcastle by-election resulted:—
Sir Cuthbert Headlam (unofficial Conservative), 7380; Second-Lieuten-ant H. Grattan Doyle (official Conservative, son of. Sir. N. Grattan Doyle, who resigned the seat), 2982. Only 21.8 per cent, of the electors voted.
