In spite of the loss of the King's Birthday holiday, the Auckland Racing Club's Winter Meeting proved very successful and the result exceeded expectations. Most people were prepared for a fall in the totalisator turnover and the increase of £2073 10s in the returns was surprising, in view of all the circumstances.
