DEATH OF "MANKATO"

The mails which arrived from England a few days ago brought news of the death of Professor J. B. Robertson, one of the great world authorities on the thoroughbred horse.

Professor Robertson, who was a veterinary surgeon and in his eightieth year, was probably much better known as a Press contributor under the name of "Mankato" than in his capacity as a veterinary surgeon. As "Mankato" he was recognised as an authority on the thoroughbred all over the world. His articles in the "Sporting Chronicle" were very widely read. His death must have been sudden, because he attended the meeting at Liverpool the day before his death.
