FREE LOANS
£300,000 FROM ONE SOURCE IN SYDNEY

SYDNEY, This Day.
Gifts of money and interest-free loans are pouring into the Commonwealth Treasury from all over Australia. The Premier, Mr. Menzies, announced that outright gifts in aid of the war effort total £77,000. The Federal Treasurer, Mr. P. C. Spender, said that the total of interest-free loans was £356,910. It included £300,000 from a Sydney family group which wishes to remain anonymous.
