PERSONAL NOTES
Miss Isabel Biggar, niece of Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand, who has been the guest of Mrs. William Staveley, Arney Road, Remuera, has left on her return to England.
Mrs. H. E. Horan and Miss Sheila Horan, who have been living at St. Heliers Bay, are now staying at the Grand Hotel, Auckland.
Miss Sheila Coates, daughter of the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and Mrs. Coates, oi Matakohe, has been chosen as maid of honour to Sister M. N. Collins, Queen of the North, in the carnival being conducted to raise money for the Sick and Wounded Fund.
Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Hainsworth, Ettrick, Otago, are staying at the Hotel Waterloo.
Mrs. G. H. Bassant, Wellington, is staying at Devonport, Auckland-
Mrs. J. Maxwell-Stewart, Wellington, is the guest of her mother, Mrs. M. J. Neville, New Plymouth*
Mrs. D. S. A. Weir, accompanied by her three sons, arrived in Dunedin from the north on Wednesday. For the past three years Mrs. Weir has been resident in the Falkland Islands, where her husband held a Colonial Office appointment in agriculture. Mrs. Weir returned to New Zealand by way of New York, where she was joined by her sons, who for the last two years had been at school in England.
Mrs. J. F. Wall, Martinborough, is staying in Auckland.
Mrs. J. Hins (Hastings), Mrs. G. E. Woodhead (Dunedin), Mrs. D. Galbraith (Sydney), Mrs. N. Gray (Hastings), and Mrs. T. G. Simpson (Auckland) are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel.
Miss Tephany Ross, Dunedin, has returned home after spending several months in Wellington.
Mrs. L. Francis (Australia) and Mrs. E. Norton (Otago) are staying at the Midland Hotel.
Miss A. J. Duthie (Dunedin), Miss M. Jamieson (Christehurch), and Mrs. C. P. Hainsworth (Otago) are staying at the Hotel Waterloo.
Mrs. Spencer (Palmerston North) and Miss M. Hamilton (Christehurch) are guests at the Hotel St. George.
Mrs. G. W. Sellar (Masterton) and Mrs. J. Stannard (Wellington) are staying at the Empire Hotel.
