FOXTON RIDERS
PEERLESS FOR SYDNEY
(By "Rangatira.")
After yesterday's heavy rain the [training tracks were closed at Trentham this morning, and the only work that could be done by candidates for Foxton was exercise on the sand OP in the' centre of the course. " Good Sun, however, was schooled over six hurdles and-gave a sound display. Trentham has twelve horses engaged at Foxton on Saturday, and the riding of them will be done as follows: —L. T. Nesbitt, Good Sun; P. Burgess, Alunga, Haughty Rival; J. Hayes, Jewish Lad; C. L. Goulsbro', St. Grace; H. N. Wiggins, Liane, Buccaneer; B. !H. Morris, Titter; R. Bucknell, Wakarara; L. S. Waddell, Galteemore. A. Sagar will handle King Mestor, and if Sporting Gift starts in the Cup, though the sprint will probably be selected for him, his pilot will be Bucknell. ;Dark Water, who will ba haying his first start from T. R. George's stable, is still without a definite rider. Although Lustra! has been entered for Wanganui, he will not be racing again this season. He is to be hacked about on a farm in the hope that he might become sound enough to resume racing next season. Peerless and Beau Ciel returned to Trentham this week from their spell at Nelson. Peerless is being sent across to Sydney on the first available boat and she will be prepared for the spring racing there by P. Riddle at Rand wick.
