MINOR AMENDMENTS

The Wellington Hospital Board, at a special meeting last night, passed the necessary resolution adopting the estimates for the year 1940-41, as tentatively agreed upon at its last meeting, with the following amendments: —The sum of £15,000 was added to receipts, in anticipation of extra payments from the Social Security Fund, and to capital expenditure there was added £6000 for equipment for the Hutt Valley Hqspital and £6000 for additional equipment for the Wellington Hospital. The levies already. apportioned to the contributory local authorities stand, but the subsidy payable by the Government is reduced by £3000, the result being that the amount of subsidy per £1 of capital levy is reduced from 19s 2d to 18s sd.
