IMPROVING FILLY
Sweet Mystery was responsible for a solid. effort in running third in the Seadown Hack Handicap at Riccarton on Saturday. She appeared to be weakening out of the final tussle a few chains from the post, but made a renewed effort in the last few strides and was only deprived of second money on the line by Scarteen. Sweet Mystery was bred by Mr. G. Kain and is being raced by Mr. C. Holdsworth, for whom she is trained by F. D. Jones. She is a three-year-old by Lord Warden from Satisfy, a McLean Stakes winner, and.dam also of a useful galloper in Stolen March. She will be racing over six furlongs at Ashburton next Saturday, and will no doubt attract the attention of investors more than was the case last week.
The grandiose charity meeting is supposed to cater for the best horses and the programme value is assessed already at £5000.
