PRE-BALL PARTIES
DEBUTANTES' PARENTS
ENTERTAIN
Many parents gave premilinary parties for daughters who made their debut last night at the Queen Margaret College birthday ball. Among those who entertained were Mrs. J. S. Martin, a vice-president of the Parents' Association, who gave a dinner-party at the Hotel Waterloo for her debutante daughter, Miss Margaret Martin. Major J. S. Martin, who is on active service, was unable to be present.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Picot had a dinner for Miss Betty Picot, who also made her debut, and Mr. arid Mrs. S. Eichelbaum. entertained for their daughter, Miss Ann Eichelbaun, Mr. and Mrs. Magee entertaining the friends of their daughter, Miss Noeline Magee, another debutante.
Mesdames E. F. N. Morgan, I. Holmes, J. Annand-Smith, Small (Palmerston North), and A. T. E. Jones combined in giving a dinner-party at the Hotel Waterloo for their debutante daughters, Misses Mary Morgan, Pat Holmes, Jean Annand-Smith, Rosemary Small, and Gwynneth and Olwen Jones.
