ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
SENSATION IN SYDNEY

SYDNEY, April 22.
Immediately after being sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment for larceny in the Central Police Court, Thomas Drury, aged 29, drew a razor-blade from his pocket and, in full view of everybody, slashed his throat from ear to ear. He then collapsed in the prisoner's dock. Police rendered first aid and rushed Drury to hospital.
The Magistrate said he would recommend that Drury be declared an habitual criminal. •
