ON LOAN TO N.S.W.

FISHERIES OFFICER

Complying with a request made by the New South Wales Government, the New Zealand Government has arranged for the conservator of fish and game in Rotorua, Mr. A. Kean, to leave next week for Sydney on loan to the State fresh-water fisheries.

The Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry) stated last evening that it was the intention of the New South Wales Government to remodel the State facilities for trout fishing and generally to make improvements in hatchery work on the lines of the New Zealand trout fisheries. The services of Mr. Kean were asked for to investigate the existing conditions of the New South Wales fisheries and to submit recommendations for their improvement.
