A CHANGE FOR THORNDON

For some years past Thorndon School has had no committee, commissioners taking its place. But a change was effected last night and a committee was elected by a meeting of about 20 householders over which the Rev. R. B. Gosnell presided. The chairman remarked that it surprised him when he came to the district two years ago to find that there was no school committee, but lie was glad to say that now there was to be a rectification. "As nominations did not exceed the number required, the following were declared elected: —Mr. A. L. Holloway (chairman). Mrs. M. .1. Galloway (secretary), Sirs. V. Hilberd. Mrs. M. L. A. Berry. Rev. R. B. Gosneil, Mr. F. A. Ellis, Mr. S. Fergusson, Mr. C. Purdey, and Mr.' R. McDonald.

The two commissioners, Mr. Holloway and Mr. R. McDonald, were cordially thanked for their work on behalf of the school.
