KINCORA SCHOOLS
QUADROON WORKING WELL
(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMKRSTON N., April 20. The feature items in. the Awapuni training today were a six-furlong sprint by Sleeveless and Aurora's Star, a mile by' Quadroon, and schooling by Clarion ,Call, Hunting Lore, and Kin-" cora. Tne conditions were perfect except for a rather glaring light at some of the hurdles. Sleeveless, Aurora's Star, and Pitmark were away to an even start, and the first pair drew away to complete in lmin 19 3-ssec, Pitmark being eased up over the last bit. Quadroon, whtf is finding the winter tracks more to his liking, started away slowly short of the mile, but he came] home solidly over the last three furlongs in 39 2-ssec to complete in lmin 52 3-ssec. Old Surrey sprinted five furlongs in lmin 7 2-ssec without being off the bit. Sceptre beat Brazil over the same distance in lmin 6 3-ssec. Colonel Bogey gave Renascor and Mick the Miller a start over half a mile and was alongside Renascor at the finish, the distance being covered in 53sec. Hunting Lore (P. Jarvis) and Clarion Call (A. Jenkins) were sent about a mile and a, half with four schooling hurdles to negotiate. They gave a grand display and the pace was on all the way. Later Kincora (Jarvis) and Bryce Street (Jenkins) did a similar task, Kincora giving a good account of himself, but Bryce Street took the last fence rather too soon. Shining Hours (W. E: Pine), after being puzzled by the difficult light at the first hurdle, went very well for a novice. N. C. Trillo has returned from the south and he reports that M. Conza purchased Richelieu Pearl after the Nelson Meeting.
