SYDNEY, March 28. The second flying-boat for the Tasman service, the Awarua, arrived, to-'----day and was enthusiastically welcomed.She is faster than the Aotearoa and' [ has a normal cruising speed of 160 to 165 miles an hour, but at one. stage,' while crossing India, helped, -by a tail wind, the Awarua attained 240 I miles ah hour. The final "agreements for the operation of the trans-Tasman air service are being flown to Australia, declared Mr, J. V. Fairbairn, Minister for"' Air, today. He emphasised that responsibility for the carriage of mails and. passengers had to be" accepted by-a,.----properly constituted body. ' ■•■■ He added that only minor amend- . ments to the agreements awaited ,th« , attention of the Australian and" New' Zealand Governments.
