LONDON, March 28. The United States Assistant Secretary of State, Mr. Sumner Welles, on his return ,to :New York from his European trip, left immediately for Washington, where he conferred with President Roosevelt and the Secretary for State, Mr. Cordell Hull, for one and a half hours. After, his arrival at New York Mr. Welles's only comment was that he had been given every opportunity to get the information for which he had been sent.
