PIANO RECITAL TONIGHT.
Mr. Peter Cooper, the young Christchurch pianist, will; give a recital tonight in : the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall at 8.15. A Chopin group will include,the."Nocturne m E Flat Major," and the "Valse in D Flat Major," which are familiar to all music-lovers, two etudes, and the "Scherzo in B:Minor." The BachSzanto "Organ Prelude and Fugue in G Minor" will open the programme, while other major works will be the first book of the "Variations on a Theme by Paganini," by Brahms, and' the Beethoven "Sonata in F Sharp Major," Opus ,78. ■> Two works'by Debussy, "Reflections in the Water" and the "Serenade for the Doll," and Laszt's transcription of the famous quartet from "Rigoletto" will' complete the programme, with the possible addition of some if the works of the moderns.
