WELLINGTON HIDE SALES

A good catalogue of hides was offered at Wellington yesterday when auction sales were resumd under the conditions of the Hides Emergency Regulations. This was the first sale held with an open market since the start of the war. As was expected there was a renewal of confidence in the exporting section of the trade; and all types met keen competition. Under existing conditions tanners are enabled to fill their wants and all interests co-operated to meet the new conditions.
