ESPERANTO
Mr. Leek, presiding at the weekly meeting of the Wellington Esperanto Club, announced that an Esperantista Kultura Rondo was being formed in Wellington for all Esperantists who had passed the student stage, the idea being to cultivate and foster the presentation of plays, readings, etc., in the Esperanto language. After discussion the question of reverting to the old system of study and programme every evening was left in abeyance. New members were enrolled and placed under a suitable teacher. Sketches and readings occupied the concert period. Next Monday an informal dance will take place after the instruction period. The weekly meeting of the Karon Esperanto Society was held in the Parish Hall last night, Mr. Nelson Hill presiding. Two members of the Wellington Club. Miss Pam Sanders, treasure., and Mr. Matthew Carver, secretary, were welcomed as guests. In reply, Mr. Carver remarked on the expansion of the Ka'rori Society, stating that Esperanto made a strong appeal to young people who desired an educational and instructive hobby. Miss Sanders expressed pleasure at the friendly atmosphere to be found in the Esperanto societies. "After supper an enioyable community sing in Esperanto was held.
