GAMING CHARGES

Four Chinese and two Europeans appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today for breaches of the Gaming Act. Ah Lee, aged 28, pleaded guilty to using premises in Taranaki Street, of which he was the occupier, as a common gaming house, and Jim Low, a produce merchant, aged 52; Joe Wong, a laundryman, aged 44; Koin Woon, a gardener, aged 39; Bernard Tier a labourer, aged 67; and John Burns Tanner, a labourer, aged 54. pleaded guilty to being on the premises. Ah Lee was convicted and fine £25, and the others were convicted and fined £2 each.
