RELIEF FOR POLAND

NO DELAY AT GIBRALTAR

(BrlUsb Official Wireless.) (Received February 10, 11.15 a.m.)

RUGBY, February 9

There is no truth in the suggestion of the Polish newspaper "Goniack Crawcowski" that delegates of the American Red Cross and Quaker organisations have been unable to carry out their intended relief measures in Poland owing ■to the detention at Gibraltar by the British authorities of American ships with supplies for Poland. It is learnt, on the contrary, that so far from obstructing the shipment of food and relief supplies to Poland from Amerioa the Allies have done everything in their power to facilitate their dispatch, subject only to the necessary safeguards to ensure that the supplies should in fact reach the people for whom they were intended. : .
