HUTT RIVER BOARC

A statement presented to the Hutt River Board yesterday by the secretary, Mr. A. J. Gearing, showed that the receipts and expenditure of the board for the ten months of the current financial year were well within the estimates for the year, and although owing to floods there had been extra expenditure over that for the similar period of last year, it was not unduly high. The estimated receipts for the year were £7250, and the ten months' receipts £6980. as against £6989 for the first ten months of last year. The estimated expenditure was £7345, and the actual expenditure for the ten months £6574, as against £6070 for the same period of last year. Th« expenditure included a land purchas* of £209. Mr. J. Mitchell congratulated the secretary on the 'financial position.
