General Weygahd, commander>bf th« French forces in Syria, is novr\ visiting Egypt. When he arrived in Cairo he was accompanied by the commander of the British forces in the Middle East, and he inspected English, Efc»ypr tian, and Indian mechanised units. After driving slowly up and down to<s ranks General Weygand expressed Jd^e keenest satisfaction at the efficient turn-out of the troops of the three; nationalities,* and said it was a symbol of Allied-Egyptian co-operation.
The Egyptian Press expresses great enthusiasm over the visit and emphasises Egyptian wholehearted support for the Allied cause.
