HUGE DUMP BLOWN UP
GERMAN EXPLOSION
DESTRUCTION IN SIEGFRIED
LINE
(Daventry Broadcast.)
LONDON,. Monday Night.
The tremendous explosion heard in Germany early last Friday morning from the Swiss.frontier is the subject of a report in today's "Paris Soir." Jt says that a huge ammunition dump in the southernmost section of the Siegfried Line was destroyed, as well as the electrical works serving the line, and large petrol stores.
P,etrol is also mentioned in the Nazi explanation of the matter. It says that a few cases of petrol exploded through the carelessness of some workmen, but that does not explain the tremendous force of the explosion, which was seen for many miles around.
