MILK DELIVERY AND RESTRICTIONS

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —There is a matter in connection with the petrol restrictions that I wish to bring to your notice. On Friday the milk roundsman told the wife that they could only make one delivery now instead of the two, on account of the petrol restrictions. This means that all milk delivered now is from the milking of the morning before and the night before. We are feeding an eight*-months-old baby, and the milk should be fresher than that, especially at this time of the year. If the Restrictions Committee has brought this state of affairs about, I think it is about time that the Government stepped in and zoned the whole Hutt Valley and thus save a lot of unnecessary delivering and wastage of petrol. A word or two in your widely-read paper in reference to this letter will probably bring about a fresher supply of milk, especially for the little ones who cannot speak for themselves.—l am, etc.,

VALLEYITE.

Lower Hutt.
