GILT CROSS AWARDED
HARBOUR RESCUE
TWO BRAVE SEA SCOUTS

DUNEDIN, This Day.
In recognition of the rescue of three members of the yacht Harlequin from the harbour off Waverley. an award has been approved by the GovernorGeneral to Gavin Bartlett and Patrick Healey, 16-year-Pld members pf the Anderson's Bay, Sea Scouts.
On November 11 the Harlequin overturned with a crew of three. The craft drifted towards the channel, and the two boys set out from Waverley in a small dinghy* and battled against wind and sea to the overturned yacht, which had drifted well out to the middle of the harbour. After a struggle the boys managed to take the crew of the yacht on board and returned safely to Waverley.
The Governor-General has approved of the award to Bartlett and Healey of the Boy Scouts' Association Gilt Cross in recognition of their action.
