The Minister of Health,' Mr. Elliot stated in the House of Commons that 315192 out of "a "total of 734,883 un r accompanied children -who . were evacuated from the danger areas after the outbreak of war" had returned ,to their homes by January 8. x In n add£. tion, 223,381 out of a total of 260,276 accompanied children had' returned,, and also 145,681 out of a total of 166,206 mothers. /
