(Daventry Broadcast.)' LONDON, Thursday Night. • . The Russians are continuing' W . attack spasmodically at many points of the line in Finland, but their main ; effort seems to be notfh of Lake .- Ladoga. Here the Finnish defences are not quite so formidable as on the Karelian Isthmus, but in tonight's communique the Finns claim to have repulsed two separate attack* - north of the lake in the past twentyfour hours, with.heavy losses to th« '- enemy. One attack began last night and . continued until daybreak.
The isthmus itself has been com* paratively 'quiet, though Russian . guns have again shelled the important town of Wiborg at long range. In the centre, the Salla sector \* ." still active, and tonight the Finns re« port renewed activity in the extreme r north at Petsamo, where the Russians .-■ made two abortive attacks. Thif sector has been quiet recently.
