"BROKEN EVERYWHERE"
SOVIET OFFENSIVE
AIR BOMBING BY BOTH SIDES
- HELSINKI, 'January 24. A. Finnish communique says that a new and large offensive launched by the Russians "has everywhere broken down."
The latest Finnish communique states: "Six planes were shot down and our coastal batteries successfully bombarded land objectives. "The Russian' base at Baltiski (Estonia) was satisfactorily raided.
Thirty Finnish planes attacked Kron-
stadt and returned after damaging warships which were frozen^ in. The ' battleships Marat and October Revolution are being repaired ,at Kronstadt'after being damaged by our batteries. "The Russians bombed ten towns. A bomb scored a direct hit on an air shelter at Nurmes and killed 19 persons. . Aeroplanes machine-gunned people in a street."
