Lady Ward, Merivale; Christchurch, accompanied by hei' twin sons, arrived at Wellington this morning. Mrs. Parry, wife of Captain W. E. Parry, H.M.S. Achilles, who has been staying with Mrs. J. M. Carpenter, of Remuera Road, Auckland, is visiting Mrs. Farrer, of River Road, Hamilton. Mrs. J. A. C. Perry, Dunedin, who came to Wellington t -> attend the races and visit tfie Exhibition, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Norman Jones, "Fallowfield," Lower Hutt. Mrs. F. C Chaytor, Waitetuna, is also the guest of Mrs. Jones. Mrs. Noel Armitage,, Remuera, Auckland, is visiting her mother, Mrs. F. M. Jervis, at Lower Hutt, Wellington. Miss Zita Chapman, who has been spending some months in Auckland since her return from Honolulu, will arrive in Wellington this week to stay with Mrs. L. H. Herd, Karori. Rabbi and Mrs. Katz, 128 the Terrace, have returned to Wellington after spending a holiday at "The Lodge,'" Harimer Springs, and at Christchurch. Miss Oakley, the newly-appointed headmistress of Craighead Diocesan School, Timaru, has left England for New Zealand. Mrs. J. R. McKenzie, Roydon Lodge, Riccarton, who has been a visitor to Wellington for the past ten days, returned to Christchurch yesterday. The Misses M. and H. Crawford, Invercargill, are the guests of Lady Shirtcliffe, Tinakori Road. Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Butler have arrived from Suva, Fiji, to spend furlough in New Zealand. Mrs. Morton Paterson, formerly of Wellington, is visiting her daughter. Mrs. Ralph Sketch, St. Heliers, Auckland. Miss Helen Thompson and Miss Mary Thompson returned to Wellington on Tuesday, after a year's absence in England. Mr. -and Mrs. S. L. P. Free, Masterton, are visiting the South Island. Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Blundell, Gladstone, are visiting Wellington. . Mrs. R. A. Bunny, Maringi, Masterton, is spending a few days in Wellington. Mrs. Ronald Abraham, who has been on holiday at Paraparaumu Beach, has returned to Palmerston North. Miss Wakefield and Miss Irma O'Connor, Auckland, are the guests of Mrs. C. E. Carter, Oriental Bay. , Mrs. Rowland H. Ellis, Hobson Street, left for Sydney yesterday to join her daughter, Mrs. D. Harper, who arrived there from New Zealand on Monday. Mrs. V. Morris, Pukekohe, who has been the guest of Mrs. E. Grandison, Newtown, returned north by the Limited last night. Miss Margaret Fox, of Hawera, left yesterday for Melbourne to compete in the final for the Dame Nellie Melba scholarship. Miss Fox, who was the finalist for New Zealand, was given a complimentary concert at Hawera last Saturday and an enthusiastic sendoff at the railway station on Monday. She has been a prominent member of the Hawera Orchestral Society and Methodist Choir for some years and is held in high esteem by friends all over Taranaki. Her father, Mr. H. C. A. Fox, a leader /in music in Hawera, has accompanied her to Australia. Mr. and Mrs. T. Jordan, Lansdowne, are Masterton visitors to Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Foster are Hastings visitors to Wellington. Miss Nora McLaren> .'Hataitai, has returned from a holiday in the north, where she has been the guest of Mrs. H. Sommerville, Raetihi, and Mrs. Michael Krivan, Rewa. Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Husheer, Napier, accompanied by Miss Freda Weber, Napier, have returned from a holiday spent at Marlborough Sounds. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hansen and Mr. John Hansen, Lower Hutt, also Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gully, have returned home after spending a month at "Rahu," Day's Bay. Miss McLean, Dunedin, is a visitor to Wellington to attend a meeting of the Red Cross Society. Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Westenra, Camla, Dunsandel, have been visiting Wellington for the races. Mrs. M. M. Heinemann, Wellington, left last night for. Dunedin to stay with her sister-in-law, Mrs. August de Beer, Roslyn. Miss Baber, Wellington, who has been spending a holiday in Kaikoura, is now the guest of Miss E. Morris, Mount Pleasant. Miss A. Buckley, Christchurch, will leave this week for Wellington and' will stay until the middle of February to attend the conference of the New Zealand Registered Nurses' Association. Miss Buckley is president of the Canterbury branch of the association. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Griffiths, Kelburn, Wellington, who have completed an extended holiday tour of North Auckland, left on Tuesday for Rotorua on the return journey. Mr. and Mrs.' G. Eric Creagh left Auckland for Wellington by motor on Tuesday to visit the Centennial Exhibition. ' Miss Gladwys Syder, Dunedin, is visiting the Exhibition, and is at present the guest of Mrs. Horace Farland, Vogeltown, Wellington. Mrs. Harry Purser, Auckland, is stay--1 ing in, Wellington for a few days after touring in Canterbury and Otago, before she leaves for her home at Herne Bay. Miss Betty Hannam, Cashmere, left Christchurch on Tuesday for Wellington to attend the annual conference of the Music Teachers' Association. Mrs. E. Jowsey, accompanied by her daughter Mrs. A. F. Nathan, are Hastings visitors to Wellington. Miss Elsie Crosby, Christchurch, who is spending the holidays in Wellington and Auckland, will return home at the end of this week. Mrs. W. Moffart and Miss Marie Moffart have returned to Palmerston North from a visit" to Wellington. Miss Olive Atkins, M.A., Dip.Ed., Melbourne, Victoria, is spending a month's holiday visit with her father, Mr. W. Atkins, Christchurch. Miss Atkins is a lay preacher of the Methodist Church and will take services in different Christchurch pulpits during her stay. Mrs. E. J. Brammall, Blenheim, is staying with Mrs. C. A. Williams, Grant Road, Wadestown.
