BOOKSELLERS CONFER
The annual conference of the Associated Booksellers of New Zealand took place in Wellington yesterday, when the president, Mr. B. E. H. Whitcombe, occupied the chair in the presence of delegates from all parts of the Dominion. The chairman complimented the association upon a year of activity and enterprise as disclosed by the annual •report. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. B. E. H. Whitcombe (Christchurch); immediate past president, Mr. G. H. Bennett (Palmerston North); vicepresidents, Messrs. H. E. Pither (Masterton), A. J. Coveney (Christchurch). Foster Brook (Hastings), T. Adams (Gisborne). E. E. Marsden (Napier), H. Duckworth (Blenheim), H. C. South (Wellington), A. H. Reed (Dunedin), T. Coventry (Dunedin); councillors, Messrs. J. Walker (Auckland), A. H. Avery (New Plymouth), H. W. Osborn (Wellington), C. A. Innes (Wellington), A. Ackroyd (Lower Hutt), J. Gardner (Stratford), YE. V. Chaffey (Christchurch), J. Bryce (Timaru), E. Gordon Bennett (Palmerston Norjh), Basil C. H. Whitcombe (Wellington), H. Rowell (Wanganui), A. J. Wixon (Wellington), K. J. Woolley (Wellington); hon. auditor, Mr. H. W. Osborn (Wellington); secretary and treasurer, Mr. F. Ross (Wellington).
