AUSTRALIANS IMPRESS

CHRISTCHURCH. January 21.
The Australian cyclists. J. Walsh, H. Clayton, and K. Stewart, made their first appearance in Christchurch on Saturday night. Walsh captured the crowd's enthusiasm with brilliant sprinting. Local competitors were unable to offer serious competition to him or to Stewart. Clayton - was not in form and withdrew from the later events. Walsh won the mile invitation ■'. scratch race in 2min 9 3-ssec, with Stewart second.
