ANOTHER LARGE INCREASE

vious record for a day's totalisator turnover on the course at last exceeded. The investments amounted to £102,803 10s (£42,572 10s win, £60,231 place), compared with £81;938 (£32,843 win, £49,095 place) on the corresponding day last year, an increase of £20,865 10s. The best previous figures for Trentham were £102,783 on the second day of the 1921 summer fixture. The track was in splendid order, with the going a shade faster th>an on the first day.
