U.S. MAY CUT EXPORTS
NEEDED FOR HOME DEFENCE
WASHINGTON, January 19
The War and Navy Departments, recalling the warning given in October that abnormal exports of strategic materials would weaken national defence, declare it may be necessary to halve the large exports of crude rubber and tin unless exporters voluntarily co-operate. The greatly-increased re-export of pig-tin to Europe is a matter for much concern.
