THE USUAL THREATS
(Daventry Broadcast.)
■LONDON, Friday Night,
We have not heard directly from Dr. Goebbels lately, but today he broke his silence in a broadcast speech at Posen, full of his usual sinister threats.
As head of the Propaganda Depart merit. Dr. Goebbels was able to confirm statements which his subordinates have hitherto denied. He admitted that small vessels machine-gunned by Nazi warplanes were not units of the navy when he said: "If we sink a few of their fishing trawlers they complain about our inhuman methods of warfare."
Another obvious confession was when he said, "We have conquered our people in a bitter twelve years of struggle," but the best of all from Dr. Goebbels was his remark, "The English are so proficient in the art of lying that one is tempted to admire them for it."
