TRANSPORT WORKERS' PICNIC.
The Wellington Hransport workers, comprising the Waterside Workers'. Seamen's, Marine CQoks' and Stewards/ Foremen and Stevedores', and Drivers' Unions will hold their annual picnic at Maidstone Park, Upper Hutt, on Wednesday, January 31. A strong committee has been set up to organise and control the picnic, and special efforts are being made to assure that the gathering will be one worthy of the Centennial year.
MOONLIGHT HARBOUR EXCURSION.
A moonlight harbour excursion will be run by the Eastbourne ferry steamer Muritai on Saturday night next. The Muritai will leave the ferry wharf, Wellington, at 7.45 p.m. and Miramar Wharf at 8.15 p.m. A firstclass orchestra has been engaged to provide music. for dancing and community singing. The trip will give the many visitors to Wellington an opportunity of viewing the lights and night attractions of the city from the harbour.
