LORD WALERAN JOINS AIR FORCE
Lord Waleran, who is well known in New Zealand, having been an aide-de-camp to Sir Charles Fergusson when he was Governor-General, has at last succeeded, after the most persistent attempts which began the day war broke out, in joining the Royal Air Force. He went to his unit on November 21 as a pilot officer, after having served first as a mobile police officer and then as a constable attached to Old Street police station.
