DOMINION PIPE BAND CONTEST. -*-- ■-- -- «. ' :; ■■.'.--■' - One of 'the big attractions of the Centennial year in Wellington, the Dominion Centennial championship " pipe band contest,, will take place at the Athletic Park on the afternoons of Friday and Saturday/ January .26 - and 27, and ih the Town Hall in the evenings. Proceedings will commence with the street march at 1 p.m., the bands leaving-the-junction-of Vivian Street and Kent -Terrace and proceedi ing around the Basin Reserve. When , the bands arrive at the park proceedings will commence with the quickstep ; competition. This will.be followed by :a- stave-flourishing ' display by the drum-majors. Then follows the most spectacular event .of the day," when the bands will perform a series of evolutions which will surpass anything before seen in - Wellington. In the eveningv- the test selections, interspersed with a varied programme, will take'place at the Town Hall.. E.
