VISITS ARRANGED

The Wellington Bowling Centre last, night granted the Hutt Bowling Club permission to hold a one-day fours tournament on January 2, 1940. The centre received a request from th^ Marlboiough Bowling Centre for a fixture early in February for a visit from Marlborough bowlers. Memoirs expressed the view that every facility should be provided for the visit, and it was agreed that Saturday, February 3, 1940, would be a suitable day.

The South Auckland Bowling Centre also wrote stating that a team would be travelling as far as Wellington late in February or early in March. The Wellington Centre decided to invite the team to play at Wellington as the guests of the centre.

The Public Service Bowling Association was granted permission to hold its annual tournament on Thursday, February 8, 1940. It was agreed that as the entries for the secretaries' and treasurers' one-day tournament were small the fixture should be abandoned and that an inter-club executive pairs competition should be held instead. This will be played on Thursday, February 15. The president (Mr. T. Lock) reported that only ten entries had been received for the New Year fours, and consequently the tournament committee had decided to abandon the fixture. The decision of the committee was confirmed.
