ALTERATIONS IN TIME SIGNALS.
Mariners are advised that the existing time signals from ZIAV will be replaced on January 1 by the modified Onege system (see Admiralty List of Wireless Signals, Vol. 11, page 218). as follows: —22hr 55min 30sec, "attention" call, Morse letters ZMO; 22hr 56min ssec to 22hr HOniiii SOsec, Morse letter O every 10 second;;, except that the third series from 25 seconds to ;!0 seconds consists of it single dash prolonged for five seconds; 22hr 57inin to 22hr "i7min '!!)sec, letter X every live .seconds; 221ir 57min r>risen to 22hr uSseo, time signal (six clots separated by intervals 'of one second): 22hr TiSmin Ssec to 221ir iißiniii fiOsee, letter U every ten seconds; 22hr nsinin OHsec: to 22hr iiftsw. lime signal: 22hr rv.tmin tisee to 22hr firiniln "i.'isec, letter V. every ten seconds ; liilir r>!)inin ">koc to 2:ihr, lime signal. (All times Cri-umvieli Mean.) The series of six (lots which constitute Hie actual time .simials are transmit led directly from the Dominion Observatory sicniil clock, which is seldom more than 0.25 second in error. Corrections to the time signals, can be r.btained on application to the Observatory. The preparatory and intermediate signals arc .sent, from a .special transmitter and should not be used as time signals.
